Fireflies in circled flight
My best friend and I
She looks at the haiku she just wrote and smiles. She’s tired but the words were suddenly there. Stirred by the moment in the woods just an hour ago. And she’s not one to deny inspiration when it hits her.
Not ready yet to confess
I feel lots more than friendship.
Shaking her head, Freya puts the piece of paper safely away. She’ll never let him read the last lines.
