“Ugh Chloe, why do we have to come here again?” Jessica moaned.

Chloe sighed and pulled Jessica along. Madison followed behind them.

They were in downtown Ashwood. Chloe had promised Jennifer that she would bring the girls to Jasmine’s again.

“I don’t see what you have against the place in the first place,” Chloe said in front of her.

“You saw it the last time, Chloe. It was a wreck. Don’t you remember that?” Jessica whined.

Chloe frowned. She did remember that. She couldn’t believe she had been such a…well bitch to Jennifer when she first met her. And now…she couldn’t even label what her feelings were for her.

Chloe stopped in front of a small café. They were here.

“Come on Jess and be nice,” Chloe said. She looked at Madison then.

“I will,” Madison said smiling happily.

Chloe smiled and then turned to Jessica. She didn’t say anything which made Chloe’s temper start to rise.

“Alright damn, Chloe. Don’t get all red faced on me,” Jessica said holding up her hands.

“Thank you!”

Chloe opened the door and let Jessica and Madison go inside first. She followed them in.
There were a few patrons inside. Jasmine’s may not have been as big as Sid’s, but it had a cozy feeling around it. And like Jennifer said, her mother had spruced the place up since they had last been here.

“Hey guys!” Jennifer called.

They looked over and saw her carrying a box of something. Chloe rushed over.

“Do you need some help?”

Jennifer smiled and put the box down on the counter.

“I’m stronger than I look,” Jennifer said.

Chloe blushed as she nodded her head.

“I brought the girls with me,” Chloe said after an awkward silence.

Jennifer smiled.

“Jenny, I’m so glad your friends could come,” a light voice said.

They turned as Jasmine Smith came from the back room. Her jet black curly hair was piled on the top of her head. She was wearing a red tank top and blue yoga pants with panda bears on them.

Jasmine wrapped her arms around Jennifer. She pressed a kiss into her curls.

“I hope you are taking good care of my Jenny, Miss Chloe,” Jasmine said winking at her.

“Mooom!”

Jasmine laughed.

“I am Ms. Smith,” Chloe said smiling at both of them.

Jennifer grinned back at Chloe.

“So what can I get you girls?”

Chloe turned back to Madison and Jessica, who had so far kept their promises and not said anything rude. Though Chloe was still watching Jessica, she wasn’t one to keep her mouth shut, no matter what she had promised before.

“Do you have strawberry crème coffee?” Jessica asked politely.

“I do,” Jasmine said.

“I’ll have one of those and what about you Madison?” Jessica turned to Madison.

“I’ll just have a plain black coffee,” Madison said quietly.

“Are you sure, honey?” Jasmine asked.

“Yes ma’am.”

Jasmine stared at Madison for a moment, but didn’t say anything. She turned to Chloe.

“What will the Infamous Miss Parker have?” Jasmine teased.

Chloe grinned.

“Um just a coffee with sugar and crème and a chocolate pastry, if you have it,” Chloe said.

“I’ll have the same, Mom,” Jennifer chimed in.

“Coming up,” Jasmine said. She spoke to the young man behind the counter.

“I’m going to go sit down over there,” Jessica said pointing to a booth in the back of the café.

Chloe nodded as Jessica grabbed Madison’s arm.

“Hey Jen, I know we’ve been over this. But I just wanted to apologize again for the way I reacted in art class,” Chloe said touching Jennifer’s arm.

Jennifer grabbed her hand which surprised Chloe.

“We’re friends aren’t we Chloe? Friends forgive,” she said smiling.

Chloe gripped her hand. “Friends forgive.”

Jennifer smiled. “Now let’s go gossip!”

Chloe laughed. She allowed Jennifer to lead her over to the booth with Jessica and Madison. She kept holding Jennifer’s hand. She didn’t think she ever wanted to let go.

Man, looks like Chloe's cruising straight for heartbreak here.

Aw, Chloe. She just really doesn't know what she's feeling, does she?
