The girls looked around at the tiny place. It certainly wasn’t what any of them were used to.

“What is this place?” Chloe asked Jennifer.

Jennifer smiled at them. “This is Jasmine’s, my favorite coffee shop!”

“Oh this is a coffee shop?” Jessica asked turning her nose up. “I thought it was a roach motel.”

Madison nudged Jessica, but otherwise didn’t say anything.

Jennifer walked up to the counter and rang the bell. The other girls came up behind her.

A woman with wild black curls and dark brown eyes came up. She saw the girls and squealed.

“My little Jenny, are these the friends you were talking about?”

Jennifer hugged the woman before turning back to the girls. “Yes Mom.”

The girls looked each other and it finally dawned on them.

“So your mom is…?” Chloe started.

“She’s Jasmine!” Jennifer said perkily.

“Oh…” The three girls said together.

“What can I get for you girls? On the house of course, any friend of Jen’s is a friend of mine,” Jasmine said stepping back behind the counter.

Jennifer smiled at them and motioned them towards the counter.

As Chloe stepped up, Jessica whispered in her ear. “At least being friendly to the refugee has perks huh?”

Chloe smirked a little bit. Why it certainly seemed like it did.

Oh wow, those girls are horrible. Poor Jennifer's trying so hard to be friendly, and she doesn't seem to have any idea what they're saying behind her back.
