It had taken a long time to get here. Rebuilding things with Nolani, building a friendship with Andrell, finding her place in this life.

And what meant the most to her wasn't the renewed passion with her beloved, or the kindness of said beloved's husband, or his mistress; it wasn't even the joy of watching Isselu grow and charm them all.

It was all the little moments in between. Like thousands upon thousands of grains of sand, fused together into panes of glass--or bound together into bricks. All the things that, by themselves, maybe weren't so special, but all piled together, they built a home.

Lonura counted her grains of sand, and smiled. Because they were all so very beautiful.
