Silver Screen 14: Comfort
Author: Kat
Title: Comfort
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Silver screen 14 (E.T. phone home.)
Supplies and Materials: Miniature, graffiti (Lilith Faire Village Stage Someday, B*witched), novelty beads ("I didn't really know what to call you, you didn't know me at all/But I was happy to explain." - Communication, The Cardigans)
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Olivia and her stepmother.
Warnings: none.
Olivia always knew her daddy would help fix her, but she never expected Joanna to be so wonderful. After all, her own mother was horrible, and if even your mother couldn't love you... but it was wouldn't, she reminded herself. Yvonne Wright was nobody's comfort.
But Joanna was. To Olivia's father, who leaned toward her in a way he'd never done with Yvonne. To Olivia herself, who found herself shyly asking for help and advice and love.
She thought about Danny sometimes, choosing new parents, rejecting the bad ones. She might never call Joanna 'mom,' but that didn't change anything.
