Paprika #18
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Never
'Verse: Lux
Colors: Paprika #18. Something's coming over me to make me wonder if too much of nothing is just as tough.
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Halftime: Lillith Faire Village Stage), miniature, photography, pastels (my current gen + romance card B5 "suicide")
Word Count: 100
Rating: R
Characters: Mariko
Warnings: Suicidal thoughts/attempt, the aftermath of the fire/some medical discussion re: severe burns
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
Some days, Mariko wanted to give up. Her skin felt like it was still burning, or she imagined Lux’s voice on the wind, or yet another skin graft failed, and it seemed like the pain would never end.
On those days, she knew the rest of her life would be like that; she would never recognize her reflection, never escape Lux’s memory, never feel normal again. It seemed easier to just…let go.
So, she pushed the button for painkillers as high as she could. Whether she woke up or not, at least it would stop hurting for a little while.
