Paprika #4, Plant Party #5
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Hero
'Verse: Lux
Colors: Paprika #4. You know what I'm dreaming of., Plant Party #5. Dutchman’s Pipe
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Halftime: Lillith Faire Main Stage), photography, yarn
Word Count: 192
Rating: PG
Characters: Rubika
Warnings: Don't think so.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
Rubika used to daydream about being A Hero. The kind that people make movies and comics and books and legends about. The all-powerful, perfect, benevolent Hero that saves the whole entire world and wins the love of everyone, especially That Special Someone (who was, in Rubika’s preteen imagination, a different person every time).
She’s pretty sure she’s not A Hero, but a part of her thinks that she might still end up saving the whole entire world. She just doesn’t know enough to be sure yet.
And as for the rest? Well, she is what she is, and she knows she won’t win the love of everyone. Sort of an occupation hazard. But she has her sisters, who are more than special enough that she doesn’t worry about a Special Someone. (Though, to be fair, if one comes, she’s not going to turn them down.)
The thing about Heroes, though, is that being one is like being a force of nature. Like Rubika already is.
So, yeah, she’s not going to achieve that preteen dream, but she doesn’t really need to. She has all the best parts already, right where she is.
