Summary: The girl smelled of sorrow and relief.

Notes: Olivia is an air nymph in this AU. And there should be more of this storyline.

There's a kind of smell in the air that Olivia's come to know well--grass after rain, faces after tears, the taste of sorrow and relief. This time it's coming from a thin, bony girl, hunched on the curb outside the clinic, her shoulderblades pushing out like wings.

She goes to the girl, sits down beside her, and catches another smell, low and earthy, sour milk. Oh.

"Hello," she says. The girl looks up, her eyes red. "Are you okay?"

"No," the girl says, simple, flat.

"That's fine," Olivia tells her, and they sit together, silent, watching the thunderclouds recede.
