Heart Gold #15, Steel Guitar Grey #15, Isabelline #15
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Love Is Not
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Heart Gold #15. I love you, not for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. - Roy Croft, Steel Guitar Grey #15. When your heart is made of stone, Isabelline #15. If you are not very careful, your possessions will possess you
Supplies and Materials: reimaging (of Love Is), pointillism, miniature collection, acrylic, modeling clay, yarn, gliter (predator)
Word Count: 279
Rating: R
Characters: Kesshare
Warnings: Sociopathic POV, stigma against bastards, references to the events of Sending a Message and amputation
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
1. A marriage is not love, it need not enter into the equation--he is who and what you needs for your plans to move forward.
2. Making sure the bastard plays with your daughter is not love, common sense is--it minimizes her threat.
3. Processing your younger daughter's visions is not love--a haze of sentimentality would keep you from seeing the possibilities.
4. Ensuring the nightmares are handled, and handled properly is not love--broken tools are, naturally, less useful.
5. Allowing your husband to oversee management of the physical damage is not love--it must be done properly, and he knows how far better than you do.
6. Pleasure in his failure to ask about the deaths is not love--questions are a complication you don't need.
7. Stepping back and letting your daughter find joy and lose it and crash and burn on her own is not love--she won't learn how to control herself if you do it for her.
8. Seeing your youngest off to the temple school when she asks is not love--placing her there gives you that much more of a power base.
9. Telling him the truth (in a sense) when he finally does work up the courage to ask is not love--a falling-out would give credence to the murder rumors.
10. Indulging your son's curiousity is not love--every reason you have to send him into that pit of vipers is a thousand times more important.
11. Needing him is not love--it is simply fact.
What is in your nature is not love--it is knowing what you need and never taking it for granted.
