Not everyone quite understands the concept of Carved Runes. I have one too many experiences with barely hidden looks of disgust. Sometimes it’s just the nature of being a magic user, sometimes it’s the existence of intentional scars.
However, Evelyn didn’t mind. She cared more about the dangers than the marks of my craft; she’s almost fascinated by the scarification, actually.
Fascinated or not, she still respects that sometimes I despise the scars. A proof of it, I think, it’s how she asks lights on or off every single time we’re about to have sex, it’s up to you, always.
